The Everyday Sniper Episode 245: Frank Green of Bartlein Barrels
An often-repeated question I was getting in the Podbean App has focused on Barrel contours. I was gonna answer this question several times and get into the heat and weight discussion but decided to reach out to Bartlein Barrels and ask Frank Green to come on the podcast.I think this entry episode with Frank is a master class on discussing the various pro and cons of barrel features and options. Frank breaks down the concepts in an easy to understand format. We start out talking contours, that is the main focus of the conversation. We get into twist rates, which brings us to Gain Twist barrels. The experience over several years of Bartlein doing the Gain Twist for many different shooting disciplines.
I really appreciate Frank coming on, this is an excellent episode. Have a great week, stay safe, protect yourself at all times, to include the family. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, and thanks for commenting.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 244: Jeff Huber Zero Compromise Optics Interview
In this episode I am talking with Jeff Huber from Zero Compromise Optics. We discuss the history and background behind this excellent optic. Jeff comes from several Tier One scope companies and that experience has helped him to create the company Zero Compromise. There are some really great nuggets of information this interview. If you are interested in how scopes get designed and how certain features come into play, Jeff is one of the original subject matter experts in this field,
Optics for shooters can be so subjective, it's one of those industries where a look can override a feature of quality of the build. So listen to Jeff break some of this down in a very easy way to understand it.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 243: Rifle Set up as part of the Fundamentals & Gaming
Not nearly the smoking and joking as some previous podcast episodes. We dig into a couple of topics as related to the fundamentals and then from a question off the Podbean App I was asking about gaming a stage or match. In the first part, I read from a great Sniper's Hide Forum topic on features that help with accuracy. But change that topic into one of rifle setup. Rifle setup is the key feature for this. How we execute the fundamental and the Tom Cruise, No Mind Part of the equation. Mindset is big with precision rifle shooting. How the brain reacts and relays information is key to our success. So I talk about mindset when it comes to set up.
Lastly, we had a question about gaming. As Mike and I mention gaming a match or stage several times. Well, gaming is a subjective, gray area topic, however, I attempt to give you some insight into what we are talking about. It can be very subtle or quite obvious, education is the key.
Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast,

The Everyday Sniper Episode 240 Star Date 73680.7 Quarantine Day 4
StarDate 73680.7 Day 4 of the Corona Virus Quarantine and we'd aren't drunk enough yet. Being behind closed doors has allowed me to re-assess the processes I engage in when shooting or teaching. It's allowing me to be reflective in my strategies when it comes to engaging targets with a precision rifle.
Couple of things to pass the time, I want to stay entertaining while passing on a couple of knowledge bombs>

The Everyday Sniper Episode 238 Milestones, 1 Million Downloads Part 1
Thank you, listeners! We hit a huge milestone in the podcasting world. Over 1 Million Downloads have been served I feel like McDonald's here. Mike and I are really humbled to reach this milestone. We also start part one of the elements of the spotting. Between parts 1 and 2 we give a master class on using a spotter. We are not talking being a Range Officer at a match or a scorer, but actually spotting. Spotting a big part of the sport. We really go off on it.
Again we really appreciate it. Thank again for sharing, commenting and being a supporter.

The Everday Sniper Podcast Episode 237 Finding Balance in your Rifle System
So I have a GAP / Manners PRS TCS Rifle chambered in 6GT here and it's pretty amazing to see where a competition rifle has gone. This is a 20LBS 6GT that just hammers and does not move. My first GAP Team Rifle from George came in at 10.7LBS with an S&B 5-25x, this one is 20LBS. The rifles just sit in the bags and on the tripod and don't move. Part of the accuracy equation in this system is the super light trigger. It takes some getting used to, but you can have proper trigger control with an evil light trigger, but you have to be vigilant.
My question is, how do we balance a field or tactical rifle to take advantage of the innovations in a PRS rifle? What is the right trigger weight to rifle weight equation?
It's something that hit me after shooting the rifles.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 236 Josh Kunz Patriot Valley Arms
In this episode, I interview Josh Kunz of Patriot Valley Arms. We have a nicely focused discussion on bullets and barrel technology. Mainly talking solid bullets as Josh has worked on several solids including the Warner Tool Flatlines,
We go over the gains Josh is making to bring solids to every rifle instead of having to focus on the barrel technology paired with a solid. Solids are the future of precision rifle shooting, so discussing this technology is important to see where it started to where it is going.
From here, the next part of the conversation transitions to barrels. Josh does great barrel work and has turned me on to the Paradigm Carbon Fiber barrels. So we have a nice discussion on those. Thanks to Josh for taking the time to talk.
