The Everyday Sniper Episode 197, True Range Zero, User Comments
In this episode, I talk about your True Range Zero and what the end-user can do to fix issues with software to help fine-tune your truing. With a true range zero a group that is just .1 mils above center moves your group to 150 yards in terms of how the computer looks at it. So it's important to understand these variations.
Talking Gun Control a tiny bit, all about the messaging we are being attacked with. Make sure you do your part.
Some singing, a little stairway, and random musings. Finally, we end with User Comments from the PodBean App. Keep the comments coming we all enjoy them. Thanks for listening and being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

The Everyday Sniper Episode 196 Communicate, Move, Shoot
Thanks for listening and subscribing to the Everyday Sniper Podcast. In this episode we talk, Communication, Movement and Shooting.Sort of an end of the competition season discussion. We need to communicate before the stage, or even during with a teammate. Then we need to move forward to build our position and finally shoot our targets. So I am taking the Shoot Move Communicate mantra and turning it around in a more logical order of things.
I was working with two guys from California this week who are attending the local Competition Dynamics Team event and getting them spun required them to looking at the match in a different way. They shot it before but with very little prep work, so putting in that extra work required this type of discussion.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 193 Chassis talk, Hunter Ballistics Musings
Welcomes to the Everyday Sniper, in this episode I breakdown some thoughts on Marc's weaponized maths. I shot a video for the Sniper's Hide Online Training featuring the use of the math, and it worked out really well here in CO. I had to make a few minor tweaks at the extended ranges, but overall, excellent little video to show you how to put it in practice. This conversation Segways into the talk of ballistics. A hunter came on Sniper's Hide and was confused by setting up his ballistic computer for his hunting rifle. Part of the issue is trying to have these longer range zeros on the rifles. For a modern shooter, I recommend a 100 yards then for hunting you can always dial up to 200, or 300 yards. But still you need to know you rifle and it's drop. Guys making these long impressive shots on animals are not winging it. They treat it the same as hitting a target in a match. In other words they are putting in their homework on the subject.Another area of interest, stocks and chassis. I put together several rifles this past week. Moving barreled actions around so they match up with a specific chassis or stock I am looking at. Currently I have the McMillan A10 here, with the JP Chassis, the MDT ACC, and finally the Cadex Strike Nuke. So with all these chassis arriving I need barreled actions to put in them. It's important to match the action to the chassis, so I was playing musical chassis. Finally, most of the classes of 2019 are finished or sold out. We are getting ready for 2020, which means I need to coordinate locations. If you want to me to visit your area reach ou to me asap to help set this up.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 192 Post Class Wind talk, Chassis, Podbean Q&A
Just finished the August MHSA Precision Rifle class here in Colorado. We had a crazy 25 to 45MPH wind hit us on Saturday. So we had a great opportunity to shoot in a 30MPH headwind with Mike's 6CM. Listen to the episode if you want to know what we saw.
We do our normal Q&A with the Podbean questions we had some very good ones this time around. Questions like,
How do DQ A shooter in a Match
What is Quartering a Target
LH Gain Twist Questions
User Feedback
It's always fun interacting with the listeners so be sure to post your question if you want it read during an episode.
Finally, I put the call out for some questions regarding stocks. We recently lost JAE as a builder, and people want to know what stocks and chassis are out there and how they can help.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 191 Fundamental Breakdown, Elements vs FoM
I was looking over some old military marksmanship manuals, not so much for the mistakes, but to see where things evolved from the Elements of a good shooting position to the fundamentals of marksmanship. And in thinking about the different techniques we use for shooting the various disciplines we engage in, how the fundamentals and the elements of a good position apply. We can free recoil a rifle and still engage in the fundamentals of marksmanship. We can also buy a hit by using the weapon system to balance our position and mask some of the errors induced by our poor fundamentals. As an example, a heavy class benchrest shooter can do a lot to eliminate as much as the shooter as possible. Others attempt to do the same thing in the field. Get a system or supporting device that masks the shooters or minimizes their influence on the shot. It's a practical exercise to look at each of these fundamentals and what we can do to minimize their influence using the gear.
It really comes down to education, knowing what fundamental controls what and how the rifle system marries to that fundamental. I talk Accuracy and Precision, we all know the rifle system can have a bearing on both. As will the shooter and his or her fundamentals when it comes to executing the firing task.
Hopefully, this episode of the Everyday Sniper makes you think about all there elements.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 190 Rex Defense Post Class Debrief
Welcome to politically correct Frank, I am host, Fundamental Frank who is gonna depart from my normal ranting style to something more mellow. As several have heard, this past weekend I attended a Rex Defense Seminar in Denver. I saw it while prepping for the Gathering, and decided, why not, attend the seminar. So I did and wanted to post my thoughts but presented as constructive criticism. No harm, no foul right, all in the right mindset. So if you are curious as to my take on a rex defense seminar, here you are, my thoughts. Not too hard, not too soft, hopefully just right to get the concept across through the radio.
Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, if you are interested, there is more discussion on the topic at Sniper's Hide in the forums. Don't forget to comment in the comment section.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 189 Gathering Talk, Plus Optics, Barrels and Training
After having my computer die a second time, I had to upgrade my equipment so that put me behind the Eight Ball for a few days. Wanted to talk about the Gathering and some high points from the event. A couple in no particular order"
The Attendance
The Range Day
The Dinner
The Sponsors
The New Products
I talk so optics, holding over with the reticle and distortions that might be involved and whether we can resolve those issues on target. Is it a big enough problem to address?
John Baker and TacommHQ have a great new barrel system and his work in this space I feel is showing a lot of promise. Disturbing the Harmonic resonance of the barrel during firing may yield a bunch of benefits that were overlooked for so many years.Again, thanks to the big-name sponsors for the Gathering, I know there was more, but I only have a partial list in front of me. So thanks to Leupold, Vortex, Applied Ballistics, MHSA, and all the others who donated or attended the Gathering Event in Denver.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 188 My thoughts after Recent Events
Without getting too political I want to discuss the gun control debate happening on the heels of the El Paso and Dayton Shootings. This topic affects us directly and some thing needs to be addressed without getting too political. The gun community immediately gets blamed for the attacks by individuals who have nothing to do with us. We are the scapegoats for the political class, especially in this election season. So with that said, I want to talk about the narrative, the story line, how we can elevate the conversation that might put those elements fighting against us back on defense.
Nobody wants to see these tragedies happen, especially with a firearm, so the conversation has to continue.
