The Everyday Sniper Episode 169 Car Trip Context Discussion
In the car on the way home from the range so I decided to drop a podcast. Shooting some videos at the range today, so I will need to edit that stuff. There may be a bit of road noize but nothing too crazy.
Context, I am trying to put things into context. We drop a lot knowledge bombs and shrapnel can spread to other discussions. I want to make sure you understand if we talk one app things dont always translate to other apps and vice versa. Also remember, you true BC at 800 and not 100, BC does nothing at 100 yards.
Clarity and context is the name of the game.
Thanks for sharing and commenting, and being a part of the Everyday Sniper podcast.

Hey Frank, I'm having trouble figuring out where the .224 call stands. I really love the idea and I know your giving an honest opinion about how you see it in regards to what it was designed for. My problem is I get to choose one barrel, I'm a "broke" family man and I've got the larger calibers for hunting but for pure target would you ever consider the .224 over the 6.5 creed? Would it be foolish to not have a 6.5 not in my arsenal?

Frank you talk about the Harris being the least common denominator. What's more of an improvement in between the Harris to the Atlas, compared to the Atlas to the elite iron? What's the best value in between the Atlas and elite iron.

I've played around with all the calculators. I'm shooting a 6.5CM. From what I've seen, all the calculators seem to give a solution within 1 click of each other. You can be successful with any of them. For me, the science/knowledge of shooting is the easy part. I've been a precision engineer for ~30 years so that makes the science easy for me. The hard part is consistent fundamentals, trigger pull, hand position, shoulder pocket, solid position, etc. You have a lot of patience to work with some of the scopes, mounts, and rifles I've seen people try to make consistent long shots with. I get why they went that route, good stuff ain't cheap.

Was listening to another guy talk about truing data, he stated that you should start out by adjusting your scope ring height in the program before you start fine tuning with BC what's your take on this?
