The Everyday Sniper Episode 188 My thoughts after Recent Events
Without getting too political I want to discuss the gun control debate happening on the heels of the El Paso and Dayton Shootings. This topic affects us directly and some thing needs to be addressed without getting too political.
The gun community immediately gets blamed for the attacks by individuals who have nothing to do with us. We are the scapegoats for the political class, especially in this election season.
So with that said, I want to talk about the narrative, the story line, how we can elevate the conversation that might put those elements fighting against us back on defense.
Nobody wants to see these tragedies happen, especially with a firearm, so the conversation has to continue.
Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper

I appreciate your comments Frank, especially your point about having a wide variety of spices for getting our news. If we don't agree with a sources views we still need to 1) know what and why others think as they do, and 2) and be able to give a reasonable argument for our side. Bumper stickers and memes don't cut it.

Snipers Hide is not a cesspool like that guy was hanging out on. I would like to think that members of the hide would be a little more in tuned if someone came on spewing the kind of shit that kid was.

I think you're right about needing to teach respect for firearms and for life of other people. The fact is that Hollywood has pushes against both those with nearly every movie they make. That is just one piece of the puzzle but arent we in the same position morally as roam was just before they fell?

Good discussion Frank, I run matches, try to invite as many as I can, talk about it out in public when I get the opportunity. We have to do as you say, keep everything tight and our message on point. Lead on, Gary.

Thanks for sharing Frank. I recommend taking others that aren't completely opposed to firearms to the range and have a great time. I'm with you on getting involved in our communities and doing good things. And let's discourage the guys making us look bad that are out on the road driving like idiots with every weapon and accessory manufacturer's sticker on their car. I see that alot around here. That stuff makes us look bad.

Another good one! I like your point of view. I graduated a California HS in 97 and we had a rifle team. We Shot air rifles and .22’s. It was my first real formal training, I still teach my kids some of those lessons.
