The Everyday Sniper Episode 54 Tikka Tac A1, 100 Yard Zero
In this episode, we talk about the Tikka Tac A1 rifle in 260REM. I upgraded my Tikka to a Bartlein Left Hand Gain Twist Barrel in 260. I talk about the results, the process, etc.
That brings me to discussing our zeros. We should all be using a 100 yard zero unless our scopes has a reticle that requires a different zero. But we want to fine tune our zeros via the software using a True Range Zero. The Hornady video on YT explains this as well I have a Utility in ColdBore 1.0 that helps determine the distance.
From a True Range Zero we go into shaving errors, what can we control and how do we resolve these variables properly.
I appreciate everyone listening, sharing and subscribing to the Everyday Sniper Podcast
Cheers,

Thanks Frank for explaining the 4dof a different way; I kinda understood what they were yammering about but now I get it.

I've had my Tikka CTR since 2015 I think, and I've liked the 20" .260 performance. That said I'll need a barrel some time soon. Did you true your action when having the tikka rebarreled?

Frank, thank you. Really appreciate you and Mike giving us a real world education along with a wealth of information. And what works and what doesn't.

Frank I saw the same thing using an infinite zero scope vs a click scope. Not putting in the .1-.2” variation from Poa-poi shift by changing the zero range with the 4dof app caused a bunch of issues at distance that my rifle didn’t have. AKA 4dof needed no truing to line up drops. Didn’t think that small variation was enough to cause issues.
