The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Knowledge Bomb Edition: Rise of the Valkyrie
The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Knowledge Bomb Edition: Rise of the Valkyrie
It's alive, it's alive, it's alive !!!
My Accuracy International AX Short Action is now chambered in 224V. Yes you heard that right, my AI is an 224V and it hammers.
So while I understand the Valkyrie is a dead cartridge, I don't see it surviving history, I do enjoy using it today. I got access to an 6.8 Bolt head and spun up a barrel, now I am ready to roll.
Performance was impressive, if you want to see the results head to Sniper's Hide and do a search.
But in this episode I breakdown my thoughts on the subject. Let me know what you think?
Thanks for listening sharing and being a part of the Everyday Sniper
Enjoy

I think you’ll find the sweet spot for that GT is between 2900-2950 with 105/109s

One nice thing in ARs, the Valkarie bolt has a bit more meat and can be loaded to higher psi vs the ARC & others based on the Grendel case. Good episode, enjoyed listening Frank. Hope to see you & Mark again this summer for another class

If feeding isn’t a problem, a 28” ARC bolt gun would be the ticket. Especially with the new 109gr eld-m. I’m probably going to pick up 1k of those 109s for my 28” dasher.

I’m jumping on the 22 cal bandwagon as well but I decided to go with a 223 Ackley Improved, the reamer was supposed to show up today and hopefully my gunsmith will get it spun up and cerakoted sometime next week. Can’t wait to work up a load for it as this weather starts getting nicer. Thanks for another great podcast.
